Anime

Despite having lived in Japan and priding myself on being somewhat of an otaku (see GI Joe, Star Wars and Typography fetishes), I am not all about Japanese Animation. Truth be told, I haven't seen classics like Akira nor Ghost in the Shell. I did, however, sit down to watch Paprika, a great movie that melds the dream world and reality in a way that only anime can. The result feels as if the movie's creators took one part Nightmare on Elmstreet, two parts Spirited Away, a cup of Freud and a dash of The Matrix, plopped it into an animator and out came this moving dream (my apologies for making the concept and execution seem so simple. It's totally not). If you have a chance to catch it, do. 僕のおすすめです!
